The Lisa Libraries donates new children's books (pre-K through young adult) to nonprofits serving low-income or underserved communities across the United States, helping establish or rebuild small libraries at no cost to the recipient (shipping and handling costs are covered by the recipient). Founded in 1990 to honor children's book editor Lisa Novak, the program has distributed over one million books to date.
Eligibility
U.S. nonprofits (501c3 required) serving children in low-income or underserved areas, including daycare centers, shelters, after-school programs, and prison visiting areas; must not discriminate in services or hiring.
